Responsibilities

• Support current process technology and implement improvements to department/plant operations based on manufacturing engineering analysis of existing operations compared to future requirements (capacity, cost reduction, safety, and/or risk avoidance opportunities).
• Prepare project justification including recommendations, make-vs-buy analysis, layout, cost impact, and schedule activities.
• Implement processes including equipment procurement, coordination of installation, process capability prove-out, training, process documentation, work standard measurement, and production start-up.
• Implement process improvements such as project management, tooling selection through implementation, N/C programming, etc.
• Provide ongoing support of processes resulting from process improvement, part changes, or changing capacities.
• Contribute to the product introduction process, including cost estimation, design for manufacturability, process investigation, schedule development, make-vs-buy analysis, and prototype manufacture.
• Review production problems as they are identified and implement solutions.
• Develop, implement, and update documentation and training.
• Contribute to initiatives by other plant functions (quality, safety, environment, production control) to improve operations.
• Develop reports, project briefings, and management presentations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 8-15 years of related experience.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must have valid driving privileges.
• Occasional travel (0-5%).
• Occasional overnight stays (0-5%).

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical skills and training such as CNC programming, CAD layout, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), process capability theory, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage medium to large projects, and contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and mentor Process Technicians, Supervisors, and others.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead discussions, meetings, and projects, and communicate across all levels of the organization.
