About the role
Unclaimed Baggage is a unique retailer and repurposer of lost luggage, attracting over a million visitors annually. This family-owned business operates a 50,000 square foot retail store in Scottsboro, Alabama, selling a wide variety of unique items from around the world at great prices. The company also supports charitable causes through its Reclaimed for Good foundation.
Responsibilities
- Interact with guests to ensure they have an exceptional shopping experience
- Learn about guests' electronics wants, interests, and needs
- Help guests locate items and provide technical information about electronic devices
- Keep merchandise organized and showcase areas clean and dusted
- Stock merchandise accurately and promptly
- Operate the cash register and maintain neat cash wrap and showcase areas
- Report suspicious activity or shoplifting to Asset Protection Manager
- Perform other tasks assigned by management
Requirements
- Light to moderate lifting required
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Repetitive motion required
Qualifications
- Strong emphasis on developing product knowledge
- Exceptional guest service skills
- Basic understanding of electronic technology and devices (desirable, but not necessary)
