About the Role

The Operations Associate directly assists the MetroMarket Assistant Leads in running the MetroMarket Mobile Market and warehouse tasks. This role involves a variety of tasks including customer service, produce display, quality control, community engagement, maintaining a clean and vibrant sales environment, and assisting with load on/off. The position is fun and fast-paced, requiring high energy, quick learning, a great attitude, and the ability to think on your feet. This is a seasonal role through November.

Responsibilities

  • Assists MetroMarket Leads with all produce-related tasks, including delivery, produce inventory, packing produce bags, and quality control.
  • Performs light janitorial duties (sweeping, mopping, taking out trash).
  • Develops product knowledge of items sold at the MetroMarket Mobile Market.
  • Loads and unloads products to and from mobile vehicles.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Delivers and stocks inventory for off-site programs.
  • Works closely with the MetroMarket team and OFS to meet community food and related needs.

Requirements

  • At least one year of previous customer service experience.
  • Experience working in community health and/or foodservice.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Hepatitis A vaccination or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
  • Familiarity with Trauma-Informed Principles.
  • Willingness to drive transit vans for food deliveries within the St. Louis area.
  • Willingness to assist with other OFS duties as required or assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • The job is very physically active.
  • Ability to stand for up to two hours at a time and lift 40 pounds.

Schedule

Must be available to work a varied but set schedule, 6 AM–7 PM, with options Monday–Saturday.
