Metrologist
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a master Preventive Maintenance/Calibration schedule.
- Plan, execute, and review instrument calibration/qualification activities as per the calibration master plan.
- Draft and review procedures for instrument operation, maintenance, and calibration.
- Initiate change controls for new and existing instruments and procedures.
- Document all raw data and observations in applicable documents.
- Notify supervisors of any anomalous or out-of-control results, and inform management of any observations or deviations.
- Adhere to cGMP and safety procedures.
- Review and report applicable calibration/qualification documents.
- Log and attend to instrument repair requests.
- Schedule visits for outside contractors for preventive maintenance or repair.
- Ensure adequate labeling of all instruments and their calibration status.
- Order and maintain spare parts for major instruments to ensure continuous support of analysis.
- Verify the expiry date of chemicals, reagents, and primary calibrators before use.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in the Nutra industry with analytical, granulation, and encapsulation instrumentation.
- 3+ years of experience in calibration, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
- Proficiency in Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry.
- Experience in HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography).
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of 21 CFR 111 & 211.
- Experience with ICP/MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry).
- Experience in quality control, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and disintegration testing.
- Specialized experience with complex, multi-ingredient formulations and interference-heavy testing environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively.
Work Environment
The role supports the Quality Control laboratory operations, ensuring all tasks adhere to cGMP standards. The work environment requires confidence, capability, and independent work with minimal supervision. The candidate should be able to integrate quickly into ongoing operations without disruption.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cranbury, NJ.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
