Metering Project Manager

About the Role

Alutiiq Solutions, LLC is seeking a Metering Project Manager to support the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) Rocky Mountain Region (RMR) metering program. This role involves coordinating with Field Maintenance personnel, WAPA’s operations Engineering/Balancing Authority, and Power Marketing teams to manage metering projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly status reports for all assigned projects impacting the Western Area Colorado Missouri and Western Area Loveland Colorado Balancing Authorities.
• Notify relevant divisions (Power Operations, Power Marketing, Transmission Services, and Maintenance) of changes in project status.
• Assist with project execution within planned and approved budgets and schedules.
• Utilize project management tools such as the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBK).
• Provide technical writing and documentation, including reviews of power and transmission contracts.
• Work with bulk electric system principles, including large/small generator interconnects, transmission interconnections, and metering drawing reviews.
• Interpret technical requirements from Subject Matter Experts for customers.
• Apply Federal budgeting, accounting, and procurement practices.
• Understand and adhere to WAPA’s project management order and manual.
• Support the development of WAPA policies and procedures using federal guidance.
• Create and maintain documentation (electronic and hard copy) for projects and operations, including hardware/software and government-developed software.
• Update and index documents related to metering projects.
• Provide project management support, including planning, coordination, and creation of status reports and project summaries.
• Support audits by providing documentation and responding to questions and requests.
• Assist with procurement actions, DOE reporting, and human resource activities.
• Develop, maintain, and deliver technical training as needed.
