Spectrum News NECN is seeking a Meteorologist to cover MA, NH, ME, VT, RI, and CT. We use innovative journalism to keep our community informed and safe.

Responsibilities

- Provide easy-to-understand weather updates - Collaborate with a team to create compelling, timely, and accurate content - Tell weather stories across TV, connected television, and digital platforms

Requirements

- 2+ years of experience forecasting and presenting weathercasts - Working knowledge of TV weather graphics systems - Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology - Knowledge of synoptic meteorology, tropical, and radar - Ability to anticipate situations, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities - Passionate about storytelling and sharing inspiring news

Preferred Qualifications

- National Weather Association (NWA) and/or the AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) seal - Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systems - May be required to lift up to five pounds

Benefits

- Comprehensive pay and benefits package - Competitive base pay between $100,000.00 and $140,000.00, with additional forms of incentive-based compensation

Pay & Schedule

- Base pay varies based on experience and qualifications - Ability to work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies - Willing and able to work weekends and holidays
