Responsibilities
- Produce and present weather reports that are engaging and impactful to viewers
- Create weathercasts and other content for our broadcast, digital, and social platforms
- Research, write, and deliver weather stories in a clear and concise manner
- Pitch story ideas, develop contacts, and report 3 days a week
- Work with the weather team, managers, and producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations
- Take part in promotional station opportunities, including public appearances
Skills Needed
- Ability to tell memorable and meaningful stories
- Visual and compelling storytelling skills
- Strong knowledge of meteorology and forecasting
- Sharp news judgment and strong writing skills
- Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks
- Proficient in social media
