Meteorologist

About the role

KSDK-TV Saint Louis in NBC is seeking a dynamic and engaging Meteorologist to join our passionate team. This position requires the ability to prepare and deliver accurate weather reports on-air and online, focusing on conversational delivery and audience engagement. The role involves handling severe weather updates, producing graphics, and contributing to various platforms including TV, website, and social media.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and compelling weather forecasts in a multi-platform environment
• Prepare and deliver severe weather updates, interrupting regular programming as necessary
• Produce clean, creative, and informative graphics to tell the weather story
• Fill in on other shifts when necessary
• Write and report from the field or inside the newsroom
• Update website and interact with viewers on social media platforms daily
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
• Make public appearances

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Meteorology, Geoscience, or Atmospheric Science
• 7-10 years of on-air meteorology experience required
• Proficient in posting content to various websites and social media; computer literacy required, including familiarity with weather and newsroom computer systems

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule
