About the role
Reporting to the Regional Metalworking Manager, you will:
- Understand customer goals and be responsive to changing customer needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of market data and access to resources to quickly respond to new developments in the customer's business.
- Educate customers on changing market trends and technology and impact to their business.
- Expand customer understanding and use of Grainger's standard product and service capabilities.
- Develop and implement account reach strategies to include regular business reviews for main customers to maximize sales.
- Leverage available resources including internal Grainger teams and manufacturers to support solutions for customers.
- Document and understand impact of customer-focused activities to increase productivity and sales including documenting value within assigned customers.
Responsibilities
Establish customer and market priorities to implement a strategic course of action to accomplish goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
- 5+ years cutting tool and machine tool manufacturer or distribution experience.
- Previous field sales experience with cutting tools and machine tools.
- Knowledge of major machine tool and cutting tool brands and applications, and the ability to distinguish market offers and capabilities.
- Demonstrated understanding of CNC operations including turning, drilling, and milling
- Demonstrated understanding of the aspects of metal cutting including speeds and feeds, materials, tool types is required.
- Basic CNC programming knowledge.

Pay
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $80,700.00 – $134,500.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to $32,800.00, based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.
Schedule
The role is offered on a hybrid schedule.
