A manufacturer opening a new facility in New Castle, PA is hiring a Corporate Metallurgist to lead product development for high performance alloys, with a focus on managing products through the full lifecycle. Relocation assistance is offered, and compensation can flex for the right candidate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, or Materials Science; advanced degree a plus
- 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience with high performance alloys (nickel, cobalt, or titanium) in a manufacturing setting
- Nickel-based superalloy development experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of ASTM, NADCAP, and AS9100 standards
- Ability to travel regularly to facilities across the US
Responsibilities
- Lead development of metallurgical processes aligned with customer specifications and quality standards
- Analyze customer requirements to design new products from concept through end of lifecycle
- Provide technical support for metallurgical challenges
- Test and analyze alloy properties for mechanical, thermal, and corrosion performance
- Investigate non-conformance and test failures for root cause
- Prepare technical documentation
- Stay ahead of emerging materials technology
Pay
$102,000 to $150,000 a year, with flexibility for the right candidate
