Metallurgical Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Sectioning, mounting and polishing metallurgical specimen.
• Clean and maintain standard laboratory equipment (abrasive saws, mounting press, automatic polishers).
• Operate lab equipment safely.
• Operate analytical scales, light microscope with digital camera, hardness (Vickers/Rockwell) machines.
• Familiarity with image analysis software.
• Maintain an inventory of standard supplies.
• Maintain a sample logbook.
• Able to read and follow work instructions.
• Prioritize tasks based on production needs and meet daily deadlines.
• Promote and maintain a culture and attitude of continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Two plus years experience in a low to medium volume metallurgical laboratory.
• Strong computer skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency in manual precision instruments (e.g., calipers and micrometers).
