Metal Fab Technician

About the role

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Metal Fab Technician to join our Fibrebond team in Minden, LA. The core hours average 54 per week (including overtime) between 6 am - 4:30 pm. The hourly range for this position is $16.50-$20.33 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Uses a variety of saws, presses, and shop equipment to cut, shape, and prepare raw materials to specified lengths, angles, and tolerances.
• Supports fabrication and welding operations by preparing materials, finishing parts, and ensuring components are staged and ready for downstream processes, while following Eaton’s safety and quality standards.
• Reads and interprets MF and MFP work orders and related documentation.
• Locates, organizes, and transports raw materials to workstations using overhead cranes and material-handling equipment.
• Cuts and presses materials to specification using manual and PLC-controlled saws, shear presses, and punch presses.
• Lays out, drills, and punches holes and shapes per prints and specifications.
• Uses grinders, hand tools, and other equipment to finish fabricated parts, deburr edges, and clean components.
• Stages fabricated parts for transfer to welding or additional processing steps.
• Aids welders with setup and preparation of components for welding operations.
• Operates spot/stud welding equipment as required.
• Completes required documentation for work orders and submits to shop administration.
• Performs basic cleanup and routine maintenance on shop equipment and work areas.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe workspace by following safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Completes programming and machining of various products.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Willingness and ability to be trained.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position.
• Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Minden, LA facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position.
• Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
