Metadata Analyst
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Metadata Analyst to support a large-scale data governance transformation within a highly collaborative enterprise environment. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals who enjoy solving complex data challenges, partnering cross-functionally, and contributing to enterprise data strategy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the identification, cataloging, and governance of enterprise data assets
- Partner with Business Data Owners, Data Stewards, and technical teams to maintain accurate metadata
- Curate and enhance business glossary content and enterprise data definitions
- Gather and document metadata, business, and technical requirements
- Support metadata governance processes for new initiatives and enhancements
- Aid in the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries and catalog entries
- Identify metadata gaps, inconsistencies, and data quality concerns
- Help document and visualize data lineage across systems and processes
- Collaborate with technical teams on metadata tool implementation, testing, and enhancements
- Support enterprise-wide data literacy and data governance initiatives
- Ensure metadata standards align with systems of record and governance frameworks
Qualifications
- Experience in data governance, metadata management, or enterprise data management
- Background partnering with both business and technical stakeholders
- Experience with data catalogs, metadata repositories, or data dictionary management
- Understanding of data lineage, data lifecycle management, and governance frameworks
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for business audiences
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity
- Experience supporting enterprise governance programs or metadata tooling initiatives preferred
- Familiarity with metadata platforms such as Alation or similar tools is a plus
- Financial services industry experience is highly desired
Compensation and Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $70.00 - $75.00 per hour. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
