METABOLIC / GENETICS RD

About the role

Morrison Healthcare is seeking a Metabolic/Genetics Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our dedicated team at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, VA. This position is ideal for an experienced RD interested in pediatric metabolic nutrition and working closely with the genetics medical team.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients with inborn errors of metabolism from birth through adulthood
• Work closely with the genetics medical team regarding intervention, education, and follow-up of patients
• Participate in research and quality improvement projects
• Host dietetic interns
• Pursue leadership and community service experiences
• Obtain CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician), CSP (Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition) or similar certification within two years of hire

Requirements

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or eligible to sit for the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) exam
• Licensed Dietitian (or willing to obtain) in the state of practice as applicable
• Healthcare experience preferred, especially for new graduates with strong clinical training

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field
• Current licensure as a Registered Dietitian (RDN) or eligibility to sit for the CDR exam
• Experience in pediatric metabolic nutrition
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a rotating weekend on-call schedule.
