METABOLIC / GENETICS RD

About the role

Morrison Healthcare is seeking a Metabolic/Genetics Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our team at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, VA.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients with inborn errors of metabolism from birth through adulthood
• Work closely with the genetics medical team regarding intervention, education, and follow-up of patients
• Join an inpatient and outpatient pediatric nutrition team, caring for metabolic patients during hospital admission and close outpatient follow-up
• Participate in research and quality improvement projects
• Host dietetic interns
• Pursue leadership and community service experiences
• Obtain CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician), CSP (Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition) or similar certification within two years of hire

Requirements

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or CDR exam eligible
• Licensed Dietitian (or willing to obtain) in the state of practice as applicable
• Healthcare experience preferred—new graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical setting
• Skills: Strong clinical judgment, ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and proficiency in medical nutrition therapy

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a rotating weekend on-call schedule.
