METABOLIC / GENETICS RD

About the role

Morrison Healthcare is seeking a Metabolic/Genetics Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our dedicated team at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, VA. This position is ideal for an experienced RD interested in working with pediatric patients, particularly those with inborn errors of metabolism.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients with inborn errors of metabolism from birth through adulthood
• Work closely with the genetics medical team regarding intervention, education, and follow-up of patients
• Participate in research and quality improvement projects
• Host dietetic interns
• Pursue leadership and community service experiences
• Obtain CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician), CSP (Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition) or similar certification within two years of hire

Requirements

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) eligible
• Licensed Dietitian (or willing to obtain) in the state of practice as applicable
• Healthcare experience preferred—new graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field
• Current licensure as a Registered Dietitian in the state of practice
• Experience in metabolic nutrition and/or genetics preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a rotating weekend on-call schedule.
