Join our Merger and Acquisition Tax practice within Tax services to help clients manage their tax obligations across unique and evolving tax specialties. You’ll advise on local and overseas tax affairs, act as a strategic consultant for business analysis, manage indirect taxes, resolve disputes, and deliver global enterprise tax solutions. Our team supports clients through various aspects of M&A transactions, including restructuring, divestitures, partnerships, and insolvency. You’ll focus on establishing treasury goals, analyzing and quantifying tax assets, assessing tax risks, and modeling taxable income and cash flow impacts.

About the role

As a Senior Manager in the Federal M&A team, you will manage financial analyses to assess key aspects of M&A practices, including corporate M&A, private equity, post-deal integration, bankruptcy, and corporate insolvency. You will lead large projects, innovate processes, maintain operational excellence, and engage with clients at a senior level to drive project success. Additionally, you will build trust with multi-level teams and stakeholders, mentor teams to solve complex problems, and represent the firm in community organizations.

  • Prepare submission requests for private letter rulings and technical advice from the IRS
  • Apply and interpret U.S. federal income tax law as it relates to tax due diligence, including Subchapter C corporations, partnerships, consolidated groups, corporate bankruptcies and insolvencies, tax-efficient structuring, and the reorganization provisions of the Internal Revenue Code
  • Build and utilize networks of client relationships
  • Work with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools for client insights
  • Lead teams and encourage innovation
  • Utilize digitization tools to enhance engagements

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience
  • CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials
  • A Juris Doctorate (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate preferred
  • Experience managing financial analyses for M&A practices
  • Expertise in tax consulting and transaction structuring for tax issues and corporate restructuring
  • Experience with due diligence and interpreting complex legislative and regulatory actions
  • Proficiency in strategy formulation and financial modeling
  • Strong understanding of U.S. federal income tax law, including Subchapter C corporations, partnerships, consolidated groups, corporate bankruptcies, and insolvencies
  • Ability to build and utilize client relationship networks
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets and data visualization tools
  • Proven leadership in managing teams and encouraging innovation
  • Familiarity with digitization tools to enhance engagements

Pay

The salary range for this position is $124,000 - $335,000. Actual compensation within the range will depend on individual skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
