Mergers & Acquisitions Associate - Midlevel - Portland
About the role
Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Real Property practice group in Seattle, Portland, or Anchorage.
The role includes assisting clients with a high volume of construction and design contract transactions as well as public and private claims and dispute-related work.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating construction and design agreements
- Advising clients on contract terms and risk allocation
- Serving as a point person for dispute resolution and litigation related to construction projects
- Working with both custom and industry-standard contract forms, including AIA, AGC, and DBIA agreements
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience with construction and design contracts and related litigation in a mid-size or large law firm or in-house legal department
- Active bar admission in, and residency within, the state of the office where the attorney will be based
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, including experience managing construction transactions and working with AIA, AGC, and DBIA contract forms
- Experience supporting or handling construction-related claims or litigation
- Strong client service orientation and responsiveness
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work product under partner supervision and direction
