Position Summary
As a Merchant for Walmart, you will lead category strategy and financial management for a moderately complex category, driving pricing, assortment, and supplier decisions to meet business objectives. This role requires collaboration across channels to optimize customer experience and operational efficiency.
What you'll do
Develop and execute category strategies for moderately complex categories, aligning with long-term business plans.
Manage profit and loss, analyze daily business performance, and implement financial levers to meet targets.
Lead supplier negotiations, define terms, and ensure supplier performance aligns with company objectives.
Oversee pricing, promotion, and assortment planning to optimize customer experience across channels.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support inventory decisions, modular layouts, and product placement.
Utilize data analysis to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Manage and develop team members, fostering engagement and performance excellence.

What you'll bring
Proven experience in category strategy development and execution for moderately complex categories.
Strong financial management skills, including profit and loss ownership and budget forecasting.
Expertise in supplier management and negotiation to drive price leadership and profitability.
Ability to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform decisions.
Proficiency in assortment planning, pricing strategies, and promotional execution across channels.
Demonstrated team management capabilities, including coaching, performance evaluation, and development.
Skilled in leveraging data analysis and digital tools to influence strategic initiatives and improve outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field and 3 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area OR
5 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters: Business, Masters: Merchandising

Annual Salary Range
The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00
