Merchandising Sales Associate
About the role
This position is part of the Field Activity Support Team (FAST), primarily based in a single store. You will own and execute “start to finish” variable tasks such as planograms, signage, and price changes, while also supporting other tasks including merchandise and fixture assembly and maintaining all signage. You will interact with customers and team members, providing legendary customer service.
Responsibilities
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work scheduled shifts dictated by business needs.
- Communicate proactively and regularly with District FAST Supervisor and Store Operations on work completion, issues, and solutions.
- Complete planograms and resets accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain visual merchandise standards.
- Perform project-related measurements and store layout initiatives.
- Complete store price changes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Install, update, and maintain store signage, including Circulars, Price Cuts, and Managers’ Specials.
- Assemble merchandise, fixtures, and PDQs.
- Perform recovery and review planogram integrity.
- Prioritize customer interactions and provide legendary customer service using GURA:
- Greet the Customer
- Uncover the Customers’ needs
- Recommend products
- Ask for the Sale
- Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers; adhere to Company safety training and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior retail and/or merchandising experience is required.
- Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to read, write, and count accurately.
Skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
- Self-directed with the ability to complete assignments with little or no assistance.
Working Conditions
- Indoor floors and outdoor lots are generally hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.). Lighting and temperature are adequate.
- Work shifts vary by store but are generally no less than 4 hours and may exceed 10 hours.
- Working environment is favorable, typically indoors with moderate noise.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to be near or around birds/poultry.
- Frequent standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, squatting, bending, stooping, and climbing ladders.
- Ability to move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the store.
- Ability to move throughout the store for an entire shift.
- Occasional lifting or reaching merchandise overhead.
- Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack).
- Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
- Ability to successfully complete all required training.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
