Merchandising Sales Associate

About the role

This position is part of the Field Activity Support Team (FAST), primarily based in a single store. You will own and execute “start to finish” variable tasks such as planograms, signage, price changes, and provide support for other tasks including merchandise and fixture assembly, and the maintenance of all signage. You will interact with customers and team members while delivering legendary customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts dictated by business needs.
• Communicate proactively and regularly with District FAST Supervisor and Store Operations on work completion, issues, and offer solutions.
• Complete planograms and resets accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain visual merchandise standards.
• Perform project-related measurements.
• Complete store layout initiatives.
• Complete store price changes accurately and in a timely manner.
• Install, update, and maintain store signage including Circulars, Price Cuts, and Managers’ Specials.
• Assemble merchandise, fixtures, and PDQs.
• Perform recovery and review planogram integrity.
• Prioritize customer interactions and provide legendary customer service using GURA: Greet the Customer, Uncover the Customers’ needs, Recommend products, Ask for the Sale.
• Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers; adhere to Company safety training and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior retail and/or merchandising experience is required.
• Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to read, write, and count accurately.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
• Must be self-directed and able to complete assignments with little to no assistance.

Working Conditions

• Indoor floors and outdoor lots are generally hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt). Lighting and temperature are adequate.
• Work shifts vary by store but generally range from 4 to over 10 hours.
• Working environment is favorable, typically inside with moderate noise.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to be near or around birds/poultry.
• Frequent standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, squatting, bending, stooping, and climbing ladders.
• Ability to move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the store.
• Ability to move throughout the store for an entire shift.
• Occasional lifting or reaching merchandise overhead.
• Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack).
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Ability to successfully complete all required training.
• Non-sedentary position involving kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching overhead, sitting, standing, and walking.
