About the role
The Merchandiser plays a key role in the sales process of Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company products. They visit customer locations to set out product, rotate new product, and install and maintain point-of-sale displays.
Responsibilities
- Follow Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling’s merchandising standards and sales campaign diagrams.
- Set out and rotate products to create visually appealing displays that positively reflect the company and iconic Coca-Cola brand image.
- Act as corporate liaison for the sales team, ensuring professional contact with customers while maintaining a clean and neat appearance.
- Follow proper rotation procedure for all product areas (e.g., shelving, coolers, displays, and back-stock).
- Install and maintain point-of-sale items such as discount coupons, channel price tags, display headers, pole signs, and static clings.
- Assist the Account Manager with price-management issues.
- Communicate account issues or potential opportunities to the sales/account manager and/or supervisor in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring a safe environment for themselves, customers, and consumers.
- Keep the back-stock area organized, clean, and condensed per company and customer standards.
- Perform minor maintenance on displays as needed and report escalated repairs to the Merchandising Supervisor.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to follow directions and excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong team-player and customer-focused mindset with the ability to positively and effectively interact with customers.
- Ability to make frequent visits to multiple customer sites each day.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and effectively solve on-site problems, including under potentially stressful situations.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying situations.
- Regular, consistent attendance is an essential job function.
Physical Demands
- Extensive regional day travel is required.
- Constant standing, walking, pushing, and pulling in a fast-paced production environment.
- Regularly required to talk, hear, and move between customer floors and back rooms.
- Frequently lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds (moving equipment and tools provided to reduce strain).
- Occasionally lift 40 pounds up to shoulder height.
- Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds above the head.
- Occasionally push carts using 100 pounds of force.
- Occasionally carry up to 40 pounds.
- Occasional to frequent twisting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Considered a safety-sensitive position.
Schedule
Static, five-day work week. Additional or alternative days/times may occasionally be needed depending on customer or promotional campaign requirements.
