Merchandiser-Martinsburg

Johnson Brothers Liquor Company is seeking a Sales Trainee/Merchandiser to manage an established sales territory in the Martinsburg, WV area. This role provides comprehensive training to prepare new personnel for eventual territory management. Ideal candidates will be centrally located in Martinsburg or Charlestown.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales objectives through effective territory management, promoting current and new products, executing promotions, conducting in-store tastings, and servicing accounts.
• Execute merchandising activities including shelf placement, maintaining cold boxes, building displays, and stocking inventories.
• Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
• Travel within assigned territory to service accounts.
• Develop and nurture relationships with customers to drive sales growth.
• Uphold Johnson Brothers corporate values and provide excellent customer service to build trust and strong working relationships with retailers.
• Approach tasks with a proactive "can-do" attitude.
• Complete other work-related tasks and special projects as assigned.
• Properly manage an established sales territory, including selling, servicing, merchandising, administration, and accounts receivable.

Requirements

• Work experience in the liquor industry (e.g., bartender, wait staff, or liquor store experience) is a plus.
• Goal-oriented with a track record of achieving results.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Competitive, self-motivated, and dedicated to providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in a professional manner.
• Capable of lifting up to 50-pound cases, sometimes repeatedly.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on communication and problem resolution.
• Proven ability to multitask efficiently within given time parameters.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills to achieve business goals.
• Proficient in computer applications such as MS Office and Power BI; familiarity with Workday is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and MVR.
• Possess reliable transportation with valid insurance.

Local candidates are preferred; no relocation package is provided. This is a full-time, regular position.
