Merchandiser/Cashier

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor, assist them in locating merchandise, or direct them to a parts specialist for hard parts.
• Check out customers purchasing front floor merchandise in a quick and friendly manner.
• Handle merchandise returns from customers efficiently and courteously.
• Maintain the front area by keeping merchandise stocked, fronted, and clean on a daily basis.
• Stock merchandise according to planograms or displays and complete sales preparation.
• Make display changes following company guidelines, including planograms and price changes.
• Ensure all "sale" signs are in place, sales flyer racks are stocked, and sufficient quantities of sale merchandise are on display.
• Remove sale materials when promotions end and restore original pricing.
• Assist with stock adjustments, cycle counts, and overstock returns.
• Work with the manager to complete the store To-Do List and Team Weekly tasks.
• Act as a shoplifting deterrent and provide front floor security.
• Assist with O’Reilly Image Maker responsibilities.
• Clock in and out according to company policy.
• When the express lane is not in use and the counter is busy, assist customers by finishing tickets, processing payments (cash, checks, credit cards), etc.

Requirements

• Good aptitude for dealing with number sequences.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Previous cashier and/or stocking experience is desired.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
