Merchandiser/Cashier

About the role

Greet customers on the sales floor, assist them in locating merchandise, or direct them to parts specialists for hard parts. Check out customers and deter shoplifters. Maintain a fully stocked and organized front area, stock merchandise according to planograms or displays, and complete sales preparation. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Merchandiser duties:
  • Greet customers on the sales floor and assist with merchandise location.
  • Check in, price, and stock merchandise.
  • Maintain daily fronted, full, and clean merchandise displays.
  • Make display changes according to company guidelines and planograms.
  • Update front-facing price changes and ensure "sale" signs are in place.
  • Stock sales flyer racks and maintain sufficient quantities of sale merchandise.
  • Remove sale materials after promotions end and restore original pricing.
  • Assist with stock adjustments, cycle counts, and overstock returns.
  • Work with management to complete store To Do List and Team Weekly tasks.
  • Act as the primary shoplifting deterrent and front-floor security.
  • Assist with O’Reilly Image Maker responsibilities.
  • Clock in and out according to company policy.
• Cashier duties:
  • Check out customers purchasing front-floor merchandise in a quick and friendly manner.
  • Handle merchandise returns in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Assist customers at the counter during busy periods, including processing payments and completing tickets.

Skills

• Good aptitude for dealing with number sequences.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Desired: Previous cashier and/or stocking experience.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
