Merchandiser/Cashier

Pay range: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and premiums based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor, assist them in locating merchandise, or direct them to a parts specialist if hard parts are needed.
• Check out customers purchasing front floor merchandise in a quick and friendly manner.
• Handle merchandise returns from customers efficiently and courteously.
• Deter shoplifting and maintain front floor security.
• Stock merchandise according to planograms or displays and complete sales preparation.
• Keep merchandise on the display floor fronted, fully stocked, and clean on a daily basis.
• Make display changes according to company guidelines and planograms.
• Update pricing, ensure all "sale" signs are in place, and maintain sufficient quantities of sale merchandise on display.
• Remove sale materials when promotions end and restore original pricing.
• Assist with stock adjustments, cycle counts, and overstock returns.
• Work with the manager to complete the store To-Do List and Team Weekly tasks.
• Assist with O’Reilly Image Maker responsibilities.
• Clock in and out according to company policy.
• When the express lane is not in use and the counter is busy, assist customers by finishing tickets, processing payments (cash, checks, credit cards), etc.

Requirements

• Good aptitude for dealing with number sequences.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Desired: Previous cashier and/or stocking experience.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
