Job Purpose Merchandise processing plays a key role in maintaining the flow of goods from the warehouse to the sales floor, keeping merchandise fresh and organized, and supporting volunteers and staff in following merchandising and pricing standards. This position sorts and prices merchandise based on NKC’s pricing and quality guidelines to ensure merchandise is consistently evaluated and meeting our store standards. Duties and responsibilities Process donations based on season and demand. Clean, organize, and fold clothing while maintaining proper storage based on season and demand. Ensure all merchandise is priced according to established thrift store pricing guidelines and standards. Review priced merchandise for accuracy, consistency, and quality before it reaches the sales floor. Maintain a consistent flow of products to ensure shelves and racks remain stocked. Organize backstock and coordinate with warehouse staff to prioritize merchandise for display. Assist in maintaining pricing guides and ensuring staff and volunteers have access to current pricing information. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pricing and inventory area. Ensure the proper display of merchandise. Follow the organization’s policies and procedures regarding cash handling. Display excellent customer service by treating donors and store shoppers respectfully and courteously. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Production, retail, or similar experience Able to lift 50 pounds Selfstarter with ability to work independently Benefits 17.75 per hour pay rate. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Three weeks of paid time off after 90 days of employment. 401K retirement plan with company match. Paid holidays as follows: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve Day through New Year’s Eve Day.
