About the role

The Merchandising Planning team at Rothy’s ensures the right product is in the right place at the right time. As a Merchandise Planner, you will own the creation, management and execution of end-to-end sales, gross margin and merchandise planning strategies to achieve or exceed seasonal plans.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary owner for all things related to Kids & Accessories - spanning sales, gross margin, inventory and receipts.
  • Post-Season / Pre-Season Hindsight: Maximize sales and gross margin while optimizing inventory levels through rigorous hindsighting to identify risks and opportunities at a monthly and quarterly level.
  • Influence cross-functional partners using clearly synthesized analysis from hindsight work on breadth, depth and content.
  • Develop pre-season category financial targets that align with seasonal product strategy—covering sales, gross margin and inventory.
  • Own, negotiate and communicate financial targets vs. bottom-up roll across OTB, Investment Review and Hindsight processes for your functional area.
  • In Season Product Performance Analysis: Track weekly, monthly and quarterly sales and inventory performance vs. plan to identify and communicate opportunities and risks through OTB meetings.
  • Recognize macro-economic or socio-cultural events that can impact demand, and recommend how to respond from an investment or in-season management perspective.
  • Partner with Production and Logistics to communicate replenishment and initial order needs and timelines—and influence optimal delivery timing.
  • Develop and evolve planning tools with the Head of Merchandise Planning and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

Detail-oriented and organized, with strong follow-through on competing priorities. Clear and influential communication skills across written, verbal and visual formats, with the ability to present to both peers and senior leadership. Strong self-management skills, including the ability to prioritize, manage up and maximize your contribution. Proficiency using financial metrics to measure business performance. The ability to quickly develop tool and system proficiency.

Pay

$82,000 - $99,000 annually Base pay is one part of the total rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
