Merchandise Handler II

The Merchandise Handler II plays a vital role in the effective operation of our distribution center. This strategic, detail-oriented role is perfect for someone who is deeply committed to safety and passionate about delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all local delivery items for product quality, consistency, characteristics, damage, dye lot, and finish
• Work and coordinate with furniture shop technicians for any product repairs and touch-ups needed prior to delivery
• Communicate with the delivery department Lead on all issues related to product inspections and delivery status of workload on a daily basis
• Assist merchandise handlers with the organization and verification of all items for local deliveries
• Clean up and dispose of boxes, packing material, and pallets, as well as general housekeeping of the facility and specific product line areas
• Rotate through different departments, as necessary, to meet the demands of the business
• Participate in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
• Perform all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals

Requirements

• Possess a complete understanding of training and communication resources relevant to the position
• Maintain an awareness of loss prevention, security, and safety following the guidelines as outlined in the Company Code of Conduct and Associate Policy manuals
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Attention to detail
• Basic English language proficiency
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
