PURPOSE

This position is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Operations Manager in overseeing warehouse operations in the order picking and put-away areas, ensuring on-time shipment, and holding daily pre-work meetings to communicate information to the team members.

  • Assists in physical inventories
  • Coordinates with other departments within the warehouse to ensure efficient product flow
  • Evaluates warehouse associates on picking and put-away procedures and monitors their progress
  • Leads and attends meetings to discuss quality of work-level and improvement opportunities
  • Constantly teaches, coaches, and improves work performance among team members
  • Documents attendance and participates in reviews for team members
  • Trains and mentors Distribution Center (DC) team members in productivity, quality, and safety
  • Handles and resolves conflicts, processes team member requests, engages team members proactively, and leads team-building activities
  • Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
  • Complies with OSHA and MSDS standards
  • Maintains the facility's equipment and materials and keeps the work area clean, neat, and orderly

Responsibilities

  • Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage
  • Handles specific customer orders to ensure accurate picking and shipment
  • Affixes to a team of 4 to 6 team members
  • Coordinates with other departments within the warehouse to ensure efficient product flow
  • Evaluates warehouse associates on picking and put-away procedures and monitors their progress
  • Leads and attends meetings to discuss quality of work-level and improvement opportunities
  • Constantly teaches, coaches, and improves work performance among team members
  • Documents attendance and participates in reviews for team members
  • Trains and mentors Distribution Center (DC) team members in productivity, quality, and safety

Requirements

  • Two to five years of recent work experience
  • Excellent communications skills (must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently)
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical equations (i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • OSHA and/or Class II, Class IV, or Class V Forklift Certification preferred

Qualifications

  • Self-starter and possesses excellent customer service skills
