About the role

Assist in the daily operations of one or more of the following highly themed Merchandise locations at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa:

• Kālepa's Store - Located near the lobby, this is a convenient place for guests to purchase groceries, sundries, and vacation essentials for the whole ‘ohana. Merchandise features artisanal island delights that tell the story of Aulani Resort and its celebration of Hawaiian culture.
• Hale Manu - Located near the lobby, this upscale boutique offers high-end fashion and island flair, including authentic Hawaiian-made products, gifts, jewelry, and designer sunglasses.
• The Lava Shack - A convenient poolside shop offering swimwear, beach toys, snacks, beverages, and more.
• Special Events, Pop-Up Locations & Carts - Mobile shops that may include vending merchandise on the beach, setting up "Pop-Up" locations, or interacting with guests during ‘Ohana Movie Nights.

Responsibilities

• Enhance the guest experience through strong product awareness, proactive selling techniques, and a positive demeanor.
• Work both indoors and outdoors supporting either a retail location or a merchandise cart.
• Guest Service - Proactively approach guests, offer options, and increase revenue opportunities.
• Greeter - Greet and thank guests as they enter and exit; assist with directions, event schedules, provide samples, and answer guest inquiries.
• Retail Agent - Process merchandise transactions following proper POS procedures; may include selling bottled liquor at select locations.
• Pin Trader/Hat/Leather Personalization - Share pin trading knowledge, embroider guest names on hat products, and engrave guest names on pre-determined leather items.
• Grocery Delivery - Deliver grocery items to guest rooms throughout the resort.
• Stock Receiver - Unload and process hard-line and soft-line products, meeting productivity standards and ensuring floor-ready visual standards.
• Stock Runner - Straighten and detail product by zone, identify out-of-stock items using a merchandise handheld, pick products from the stockroom, and fulfill product to sales fixtures while meeting productivity standards.

Requirements

• Follow Open/Close procedures for cashiering, including counting and balancing funds at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Adhere to proper cash handling procedures and loss prevention guidelines.
• May work in specialized areas with additional training as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical skills.
• Sales experience or comfort with suggestive selling is helpful.
• Knowledge of Hawaiian or Japanese language is preferred.

Schedule

Part-Time: Must be available all Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays. Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week during training.

Pay

The pay rate for this role in Hawaii is $29.17 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
