About the role
Hourigan is a fully integrated construction management and development firm specializing in complex projects delivered to the highest standards. We are seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to lead on-site activities for the MEP scopes of work on data center projects. This role will collaborate with a team to deliver large, complex projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage field activities for larger projects with increased complexity.
- Ensure proper performance of all subcontractors in both quality and timeliness.
- Coordinate duties with the Project Manager, including project start-up and close-out activities.
- Maintain and organize all project contract documents regularly.
- Provide oversight, guidance, and mentorship to other Superintendents.
- Assist the Project Manager with preparation of the project construction schedule, incorporating input from subcontractors.
- Coordinate implementation of the final project budget with the Project Manager.
- Conduct Subcontractor pre-construction meetings to review Hourigan and project-specific requirements.
- Lead regular Subcontractor coordination meetings with the Project Manager.
- Prepare and distribute project administrative documents, including daily reports, 3-week look-ahead schedules, incident reports, safety inspection reports, material delivery tickets, and investigation reports.
- Identify and resolve on-site project-specific issues in conjunction with the Project Manager and escalate as needed.
- Implement and enforce Hourigan’s on-site Quality Control procedures.
- Implement and enforce Hourigan’s on-site Safety and emergency procedures.
- Participate in the Hourigan Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) by committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, attending training, and eliminating hazards.
- Provide resources and support to ensure positive safety and health outcomes in line with the Hourigan SHMS.
Requirements
- B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction with a general contractor, particularly in data centers or mission-critical projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems.
- Previous experience leading a job-site team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with construction software, with preference for Procore and Bluebeam.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of Commercial Construction Means and Methods, LEED certifications, and industry practices.

- Some periodic travel may be required.
