About the role
We are seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to support the delivery of large-scale hyperscale and mission critical data center projects across the Midwest. This individual will play a key role in overseeing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing construction activities from installation through commissioning and turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily MEP field operations on large-scale data center construction projects.
- Cook up mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, and commissioning activities.
- Manage subcontractor performance, manpower planning, productivity, and site logistics.
- Facilitate daily coordination meetings, pull-planning sessions, and look-ahead scheduling.
- Maintain project schedules and proactively identify potential delays or conflicts.
- Ensure all installations meet design intent, client requirements, and quality standards.
- Oversee QA/QC inspections, testing procedures, deficiency tracking, and punch list management.
- Coordinate closely with commissioning teams through startup, testing, and turnover activities.
- Drive site safety initiatives and maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Manage energization procedures, LOTO compliance, MOP reviews, and critical systems turnover where required.
- Partner with project management teams to provide accurate progress updates and risk assessments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an MEP Superintendent, Mechanical Superintendent, Electrical Superintendent, or Senior Superintendent.
- Previous experience delivering mission critical or hyperscale data center projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems.
- Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and complex MEP scopes.
- Working knowledge of commissioning, startup, and turnover processes.
- Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and BIM models.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Ohio and Michigan.
Preferred Experience
- Experience on hyperscale campuses exceeding 50MW.
- Background working for leading General Contractors, Mission Critical Builders, or Data Center Developers.
- Experience with commissioning agents and critical facility turnover procedures.
- Familiarity with BIM360, ACC, Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
- Experience working in fast-track construction environments.
