About the role
The position is part of the Brooklyn Jail Project, executed by TPC- Building Projects, a subsidiary of Tutor Perini Corporation. The project involves the design and construction of a new state-of-the-art facility with 1,040 beds for men, various programmatic elements, and community facilities.
Responsibilities
- Expand and develop standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality.
- Aid in the creation of project-specific Quality Management Plans and ensure their implementation.
- Develop quality metrics to support team reviews and address any trends through cross-functional collaboration with operations.
- Manage a team of Quality professionals to handle administrative tasks like reporting site evaluations, quality reporting, and site-specific quality planning.
- Conduct random site evaluations and follow-up evaluations to ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Create mechanisms for sharing best practices and addressing quality issues across project teams and among quality personnel.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including ADA, ASHE, NFPA, UL, ASTM, and FBC.
- Develop and update comprehensive training curricula for all field operations, Quality Department staff, and subcontractors.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices through participation in relevant organizations and forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP quality control in building construction projects.
- Proven experience in conducting inspections, audits, and managing quality documentation.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with quality management software and Microsoft Office.
- Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) are a plus.
