MEP Project Manager - Advanced Manufacturing
About the role
The MEP Project Manager at W. G. Yates & Sons Construction Company leads the planning, installation, and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for advanced solar manufacturing facilities. This role ensures all utilities, building systems, and production-support infrastructure are delivered safely, on schedule, and in alignment with manufacturing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage all MEP scope for solar manufacturing facilities, including HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, chilled water, process cooling, and specialty utilities.
- Cook up coordination with engineers, OEM equipment vendors, subcontractors, and construction teams to integrate MEP systems with production lines and facility infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain MEP schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and installation milestones.
- Oversee field teams and subcontractors, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with codes and manufacturing standards.
- Lead testing, startup, and commissioning of MEP systems to support manufacturing readiness.
- Identify risks, resolve technical issues, manage change orders, and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.
- 5+ years of MEP project management experience in industrial, manufacturing, or large commercial environments (solar, semiconductor, battery, or similar preferred).
- Strong knowledge of industrial utilities, building codes, safety regulations, and commissioning processes.
- Proficiency with project management tools (Procore, Primavera, MS Project).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
