MEP Engineer Co-op - Dayton, OH
About the role
Messer Construction Co. is seeking a Fall 2026 Co-op in the Dayton region. This co-op will work on various projects within the Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection, and Building Controls trades.
Responsibilities
- Workforce coordination for Mechanical and Electrical trade subcontractors.
- Quantity surveying and cost estimating of Mechanical and Electrical work.
- Reviewing Mechanical and Electrical equipment and product submittals for content and accuracy.
- Evaluating Mechanical and Electrical Systems installations for quality and progress on schedule.
- Managing Mechanical and Electrical System’s start-up and commissioning.
- Project controls input (scheduling, cost reporting, PM solutions).
- Quality control of Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection and Building Controls.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree required.
- Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Qualifications
Experience working with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) and experience with using an iPad is desired.
