About the role
The Mentoring Coordinator at Valley Youth House will play a crucial role in empowering youth and volunteers through the mentoring program. This position requires a minimum of two years of experience working with youth and a bachelor's degree in a human service-related field.
Responsibilities
- Identify, engage with, and recruit youth and volunteer mentors interested in the mentoring program.
- Facilitate matches between youth and mentors based on interviews, youth/mentor interests, and matching events.
- Facilitate events designed to further the program including recruiting events, matching events, group activities, and support meetings.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience working with youth.
- Bachelor's Degree in a human service-related field.
- Excellent engagement skills.
- Ability to function autonomously and take initiative.
- Available to work some evenings and on occasion on weekends.
- Valid driver's license and daily access to a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous organizational or leadership experience.
Physical Requirements
- Moving from one work site to another and driving to see multiple youth in a day.
- Lifting and carrying objects up to 20 pounds.
- Walking and climbing stairs.
- Sitting/standing for extended periods.
- Using personal vehicle to meet with clients and transport them.
