About the role

ExcelHealth Group is seeking a compassionate, professional, and highly dependable Mental Wellness Program Coordinator to support the delivery of mental wellness services to residents of skilled nursing and long-term care facilities throughout Florida. This is a field-based, nonclinical position for someone who enjoys working directly with people, is comfortable with technology, and can independently represent a healthcare organization in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to skilled nursing and long-term care facilities throughout Florida to facilitate scheduled Mental Wellness telehealth visits.
  • Serve as the onsite representative of ExcelHealth Group's Mental Wellness Program.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with facility administrators, nursing teams, social services staff, residents, and other facility personnel.
  • Coordinate with facility staff to help ensure residents are available and prepared for scheduled appointments.
  • Set up telehealth equipment and successfully connect residents with their mental health provider.
  • Assist residents with basic technology and communication needs during the telehealth process.
  • Help create a comfortable, private, and respectful environment for each resident's visit.
  • Maintain an organized schedule and help keep telehealth visits running efficiently throughout the day.
  • Document completed visits, refusals, cancellations, unavailable residents, and other required information accurately and timely.
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment, audio, video, and connectivity issues.
  • Communicate scheduling concerns, operational barriers, and facility needs to the appropriate ExcelHealth team members.
  • Follow established procedures for escalating resident safety or clinical concerns to appropriate facility and/or clinical personnel.
  • Protect resident privacy and confidentiality and follow HIPAA, resident-rights requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.

The ideal candidate is someone who is warm and compassionate with older adults while also being polished, organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently. Communicates professionally and confidently with residents, families, facility staff, and leadership. Has a natural ability to make people feel comfortable and respected. Enjoys working with seniors and vulnerable populations. Is patient and compassionate when assisting individuals who may have cognitive, hearing, communication, or technology challenges. Is comfortable using laptops, tablets, video conferencing platforms, and other basic technology. Can troubleshoot basic technology issues without becoming overwhelmed. Is highly organized and able to manage a busy schedule independently. Understands the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries. Is dependable and comfortable working independently in the field. Can adapt professionally when schedules, resident availability, or facility circumstances change.

Qualifications

  • Required
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Reliable transportation.
    • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout Florida.
    • Ability to complete overnight travel when necessary.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Basic computer and technology proficiency.
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Preferred
    • Previous experience in healthcare, long-term care, skilled nursing, behavioral health, senior services, medical offices, patient coordination, or a related environment.
    • Experience working directly with older adults.
    • Experience working in nursing homes or other healthcare facilities.
    • Experience with telehealth or video conferencing technology.
    • Clinical licensure or certification is not required for this position.

Success in this role means residents have a positive, dignified experience accessing mental wellness services; providers can conduct their telehealth visits efficiently; facility teams view you as a dependable and professional partner; and operational issues are identified and communicated quickly. Above all, you understand that you are often the in-person face of the Mental Wellness Program. You bring professionalism, patience, compassion, and respect into every facility and every resident interaction.
