About the role
Provides role as patient advocate through role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients’ needs for service. Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living. Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation, monitoring, interacting, and providing/assisting in groups.
Responsibilities
- Consistently adheres to Butler Hospital service standards.
- Serves as patient advocate through role modeling and meeting patients’ needs for service.
- Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, including activities of daily living.
- Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment via observation, monitoring, interaction, and group assistance.
- Commits to self-development relevant to the role of mental health worker.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred; comparable behavioral health experience may substitute for the degree.
- Experience working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) preferred: 2% pay differential available for applicants with an active CNA license.
Schedule
20/40 Part Time Nights - Every Other Weekend
