Mental Health Worker/Resident Aid - Full time

Key Responsibilities

• Escort clients timely to groups and record participation ensuring groups maintain a 1:6 ratio.
• Facilitate groups and activities as assigned.
• Lead MHW discussions as assigned.
• Lead community meetings daily.
• Record client group participation on tracking calendar.
• Pass out and collect tracking calendars weekly.
• Total tracking calendars weekly and log into medical records.
• Encourage client attendance to groups and participation.
• Aid in ensuring clients complete forms properly and on time.
• Document interventions and interactions with clients in the medical record.
• Report changes in behavior to charge nurse and Program Counselor.

Requirements

• At least 6 months job experience in a similar health facility (SNF, ALF or Hospital setting).
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Ability to interact tactfully with various personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
• Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
• Willingness to handle difficult residents without posing a direct threat to their health or safety.
