Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, located in Bakersfield, California, is an acute psychiatric and behavioral 90-bed facility situated on 8.8 acres. We offer inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents, and adults needing mental/behavioral health, chemical dependency, and co-occurring disorders treatment through our medically supervised detoxification. About the Role

The Mental Health Worker at BBHH is a critical role providing basic nursing care, aiding with activities of daily living, and assisting in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. Under the direction of the Charge Nurse and unit Lead Mental Health Worker, this position serves as the primary caregiver to all patients during their shift, within the scope of practice. This is an hourly, non-exempt, overtime-eligible position with a starting wage of $23.00 for new hires. Automatic merit increases are applied annually based on evaluations. A shift differential applies for night shifts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Current CPR certification (or obtained prior to start date)
• Completion of "Handle-With-Care" Physical Restraint Technique Training during orientation
• Ideally, at least 6 months of experience in human behavior, psychiatry, psychology, social services, or related fields (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)

Schedule

This position operates on an alternate work schedule of 12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
