Mental Health Worker - Geriatric

About the Role
Under the direction and supervision of the RN, LVN, or Charge RN, assist the licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living. Supports unit functions and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and co-workers. Functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team and communicates pertinent patient information to the supervising RN. Performs clerical duties as assigned and provides basic nursing care for adult and geriatric patients. Performs responsibilities within the guidelines of the Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital/Nursing Policy, and state regulatory and accrediting requirements.
In the outpatient setting, under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing, RN, and Program Director, carries out activities of daily living programs and individual treatment plans for psychiatric patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care, including activities of daily living.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and co-workers.

- Perform clerical duties as assigned.
- Provide basic nursing care for adult and geriatric patients.
- Carry out activities of daily living programs and individual treatment plans for psychiatric patients (outpatient role).
Requirements
- Must have a current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) issued by the State, or a minimum of one year of experience working as a Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
- One year of prior mental health experience preferred.
- Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $18.65 to $27.01 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
