About the role
As a Mental Health Coordinator (PRN) at CoreCivic, you will plan and provide clinical mental health services of a non-medical nature in the facility. This role involves conducting mental health screenings, assessments, and delivering treatment to inmates.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mental health screenings and assessments through record reviews and clinical interviews with inmates.
- Provide treatment by developing, implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans based on needs and level of functioning.
- Document treatment and evaluation activities in healthcare records for each individual seen.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques through treatments and activities for individuals in caseload.
- Provide appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions to address inmate needs.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical field.
- Five (5) years of clinical experience, including two (2) years in a comparable job position.
- Appropriate certification or licensing in the state where practice occurs.
- Minimum age requirement: at least 18 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is preferred unless required by contract or applicable statute.
