Mental Health Therapist Outpatient

About the role

As an Independent Mental Health Therapist, you will provide compassionate and effective psychotherapy and counseling services to clients managing mental health challenges. You will independently evaluate and assess the bio-psycho-social needs of patients, treat mental health disorders through individual, group, family, and/or significant other counseling, and provide crisis intervention when needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
• Maintain clinical documentation (evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries) in accordance with departmental policies and licensure standards.
• Collaborate, consult, and coordinate treatment and discharge/after-care services with internal teams, external agencies, and significant others.
• Document progress toward treatment goals and ensure timely reimbursement for services rendered, including utilization reviews and third-party payment documentation.
• Maintain open, therapeutic communication with clients, peers, and families while upholding strict confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Work effectively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
• Participate in mandatory safety, security, and infection control programs, as well as annual competencies and professional development.
• Assist in maintaining current patient demographics and insurance information.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, or a related behavioral health field.
• Independent Mental Health Practitioner/Counselor license in Nebraska (preferred).
• Three years of post-license experience in mental health, addiction recovery, or a related field.

Pay

$32.85 - $39.07 per hour.

Primary to specialty care, including walk-in and virtual services, is provided through CHI Health Clinic, offering over 20 specialties and 100 convenient locations with extended hours at some clinics.
