About the role

Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to join a team that provides compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for each client
  • Conduct individual, group, family, and couples therapy sessions
  • Manage a caseload and oversee clients' clinical care throughout treatment
  • Absess client progress and modify treatment interventions as needed
  • Provide crisis intervention, prevention, and de-escalation when necessary
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director, treatment team, and family members to ensure coordinated care
  • Develop aftercare and discharge recommendations to support long-term recovery
  • Model professionalism, integrity, accountability, dignity, and respect in every client interaction

Requirements

  • Required Qualifications:
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
    • Active state licensure or certification required to practice in this role - LCSW, LCPC, LGPC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, ADT
    • Strong clinical judgment and observational skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
    • Experience working in behavioral health, mental health, addiction treatment, or residential treatment settings
    • Experience facilitating group therapy
