Mental Health Therapist / Counselor

Responsibilities

• Counsels clients individually, in groups, and in families.
• Performs diagnostic and assessment procedures according to ODMH/ODADAS/CARF standards.
• Coordinates various clinical activities and monitors client care.
• Makes necessary reports to supervisor and Clinical Director.
• Attends executive committee meetings and treatment staffing meetings.
• Serves on committees for Quality Assurance and may chair select committees.
• Conducts in-service training as assigned.
• Maintains contact with family members, guardians, referral sources, and authorized outside sources.
• Maintains documentation related to caseload and program function.
• Makes presentations to representatives from outside agencies as required.

Requirements

• Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
• Experience working with adolescents, teens, and adults with mental health diagnoses, or relevant work history.
• Interpersonal skills to interact professionally with employees, physicians, providers, patients, and their families.
• Organizational and technical skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Ability to adapt to a challenging and dynamic environment and work in a matrixed organizational structure.

Qualifications

• Adequate knowledge and ability to navigate EHR system.
• Proven competency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span.
