Mental Health Therapist, Community Support Team

About the role

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is seeking a full-time Mental Health Therapist to join the Community Support Team. The ideal candidate will provide individual therapy sessions to clients with serious mental illness (SMI), trauma, and other needs in a home or community setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group therapy to adults with SMI in the home and in community-based settings.
• Participate in weekly supervision and staff meetings to aid in staff development.
• Achieve and maintain accurate documentation in a timely manner, meeting Rule 140/132 and/or MCO requirements.
• Transport clients as needed.
• Comply with documentation and productivity standards.
• Demonstrate adherence to ethical standards of treatment according to the NASW Code of Ethics.
• Show professional, positive behavior and treat clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations/facilities in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Background check clearance required.
• LSW/LPC, LCSW/LCPC preferred.
• Two to three years’ experience working with and providing therapy to mental health and/or substance use populations preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in EHR documentation and review.
• Familiarity with accreditation and licensure standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent organization, presentation, and computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related software.
• Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
• Access to reliable transportation required.
• Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based practices.
• Experience with EHR documentation and review.
• Familiarity with accreditation and licensure standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent organizational and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.

Pay

$26-$28 hourly.
