The Dual Diagnosis Therapist works as the client's Primary Treatment Provider in concert with the assigned Chemical Dependency (CD) Counselor. The Dual DX Therapist focused on the cooccurring disorders, family and couples work. Therapist may also conduct/facilitate Life Line group, Processing groups, Didactic/Life Skills, and Family Educational groups, with the appropriate competency and training. Qualifications Active license in good standing in the Commonwealth of Virginia (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LCP) or be willing to obtain one if transferring from another State/newly licensedMaster's Degree or higher is requiredMust possess effective communication skills in order to effectively interact with patients, families, and facility staff.Advanced computer knowledge and experience with word processing and spreadsheet creation (Mac and/or Microsoft platforms)Current TB skin testWorking knowledge and ability to appropriately utilize the contributions of various mental health/addiction philosophies, counseling models, and treatment practices as they apply to providing mental health and substance abuse counseling to clients.Experience with military/1st Responders (Preferred) Responsibilities Individual therapy sessions for clients.Group therapyCharting of all assessments, sessions, and groupsAttend Treatment Team StaffingMaintain compliance.Monitor the progress of client(s) in the program and modify the treatment plan as appropriate.Contact with family members, crisis interventions, etc.Specialize in trauma and PTSD and have competency in chemical dependency treatment.
