Mental Health Therapist

Responsibilities

• Counsels students on emotional, behavioral, and academic issues.
• Develops and implements individualized therapeutic plans.
• Maintains progress notes and other required documentation.
• Collaborates with families, school staff, and community providers.
• Conducts mental health screenings and assessments.
• Develops and implements evidence-based clinical interventions.
• Designs and implements services to meet individual and organizational outcomes.
• Participates in team meetings and contributes to PBSP development.
• Provides reports of progress based on IEP monitoring.
• Ensures confidentiality of student information.

Qualifications

• Licensed mental health professional (LCSW, LSW, or LPC).
• One year experience in a CASSP system, child welfare, or school-based experience.
• Knowledge of Pennsylvania Charter School Law and School Code.
• Knowledge of cognitive behavioral techniques and other intervention methods.
• Experience with Medicaid systems and the ACCESS Program.
• Knowledge of special education programs and regulations.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various materials.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Clearances including Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114).
• Employment criteria for PA public schools.
