Mental Health Therapist

About the role

Mental Health Therapists at Catholic Charities provide clinical assessment, crisis intervention, individual, family, and group therapy, and case management to OB/GYN patients, expectant women, fathers, and their families at Marisol Health Clinics. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, deliver evidence-based psychotherapy, and address trauma-related disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical assessment/problem identification, crisis intervention, individual, family, and group therapy, and case management to OB/GYN patients, expectant women, fathers, and their families at Marisol Health Clinics.
• Works as a member of a multidisciplinary, collaborative care team, providing expert subject matter consultation to staff and ensuring the integration of a continuum of services through Catholic Charities and community resources.
• Delivers evidence-based psychotherapy for individuals experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, including depression, anxiety, OCD, and birth-related trauma.
• Affirms and treats current and historical trauma, including complex trauma, intimate partner violence, and adverse childhood experiences.
• Utilizes evidence-based trauma treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), EMDR, and other validated modalities.
• Provides dyadic and family-based interventions to support the parent–child relationship, attachment, and early childhood development.
• Addresses attachment disruptions in infants and young children using developmentally appropriate, relationship-based approaches.
• Provides case-specific clinical supervision and documentation review to pre-licensed clinicians and unlicensed professionals providing behavioral health services per the agency’s Rendering Provider Oversight policy.
• Collaborates with OB/GYN providers, midwives, lactation consultants, and care coordinators to support integrated care delivery.
• Participates in warm handoffs and same-day behavioral health consultations within the clinic setting.
• Delivers brief, solution-focused interventions as well as longer-term therapy when clinically indicated.
• Delivers psychoeducation on perinatal mental health, trauma, and infant/early childhood development.
• Maintains accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Participates in case consultation, interdisciplinary team meetings, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
• Performs appropriate case management; refers clients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling.
• Documents client contacts and progress in accordance with accepted charting standards.
• Consults with groups and individuals when needed.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with referral sources and community agencies.
• Completes necessary administrative duties timely and accurately.
• Provides education, training, and/or planning in mental health human service issues as appropriate.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, or PsyD) in the state of Colorado.
• Demonstrated experience providing evidence-based treatment for trauma-related disorders, including both acute and complex trauma.
• Training and/or certification in at least one evidence-based trauma modality (e.g., CPT, TF-CBT, EMDR, or equivalent).
• Experience working with perinatal populations, including pregnant and postpartum women preferred.
• Clinical experience supporting parents, infants, and young children, including dyadic or family-based treatment approaches preferred.
• Knowledge of attachment theory and experience addressing attachment-related concerns in early childhood.
• Master’s degree (MA/MS/MSW) or doctorate degree from accredited college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training in the field of counseling psychology, social work, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge and experience in the field of perinatal mental health, early childhood mental health, and trauma-informed practice is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (MA/MS/MSW) or doctorate degree from accredited college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training in the field of counseling psychology, social work, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Knowledge of attachment theory and experience addressing attachment-related concerns in early childhood.
• Strong clinical supervision and documentation skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to deliver brief and longer-term therapy as clinically indicated.
• Proficiency in delivering psychoeducation on perinatal mental health, trauma, and infant/early childhood development.
• Ability to document client contacts and progress accurately and timely.
• Experience with case management and referral services.
• Ability to consult with groups and individuals as needed.
• Knowledge of referral sources and community agencies.
• Ability to complete necessary administrative duties accurately and timely.
• Ability to provide education, training, and/or planning in mental health human service issues as appropriate.

• Shift is full time, but part time will also be considered.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is full time, but part time positions will also be considered.
